“Pushed to DBT” But No Money? Fix It Fast
If your SSP scholarship status reads “Pushed to DBT” but nothing has reached your bank account, the payment is already approved. The delay is almost always at the bank or Aadhaar stage — not with the scholarship department.
What “Pushed to DBT” Actually Means
DBT stands for Direct Benefit Transfer. When the State Scholarship Portal (SSP) shows this status, the welfare department has verified your application and sent the payment file to the DBT cell. From there, the money moves through the NPCI mapper into your Aadhaar-linked bank account. Put simply: your scholarship is sanctioned, and the transfer is in progress.
How Long It Takes After “Pushed to DBT”
Once the status changes to “Pushed to DBT,” the amount usually credits within 7 to 15 working days. The 2025-26 cycle releases funds between February and July 2026, so timing depends on which department cleared your file and how heavy the processing queue is.
Post-matric fee reimbursement can feel slower because it arrives in two parts — 40% from the Government of Karnataka and 60% from the Government of India. A partial credit is normal, not an error.
Why Your Money Hasn’t Arrived Yet
Three issues cause almost every stuck payment.
Aadhaar Not Seeded With NPCI
Scholarship money is sent to your Aadhaar number, not your account number. If your Aadhaar is not linked to your bank account on the NPCI server, the transfer fails even when SSP shows the payment was released.
Status Says “Success” but Still No Credit
A “Success” or “Paid” tag with no deposit points to a dormant or unseeded account. Confirm the account is active and that the correct one is mapped to your Aadhaar. Students with more than one bank account often have the wrong account seeded.
Wrong Account Type for Higher Studies
Pre-matric students (Class 1–10) may use a joint account with a parent. PUC, diploma, and degree students must use an individual savings account in their own name, or the credit can bounce back.
How to Fix a Stuck DBT Payment
Work through these steps in order:
- Visit your bank branch and ask for the NPCI Seeding Form (also called the DBT Consent form). Submitting it links your Aadhaar to that account on the NPCI mapper.
- Confirm your bank account is active and your KYC is complete.
- Wait about 4 to 5 days after seeding. A “Failed” status usually turns to “Success” once the mapping updates.
- If your application was rejected for a name mismatch, correct your Aadhaar or school records first, since DBT checks your name against Aadhaar.
How to Check Your Exact SSP Status
- Post-matric: Log in at ssp.postmatric.karnataka.gov.in, open Student Status Report, select the financial year (2025-26), and review the DBT and fee reimbursement details.
- Pre-matric: Use the Track Student Scholarship Status link and enter your 9-digit SATS ID — no password required.
Look for the maintenance amount, fee reimbursement figure, and the DBT flag. If it reads “Pushed to DBT: Yes,” the payment is on its way, and no action is needed beyond a valid, Aadhaar-seeded account.
Still Nothing After 15 Days?
Call the Karnataka scholarship helpline at 1902 with your SSP ID or SATS ID ready. For post-matric cases, your college nodal officer can also raise the issue with the department. Keep your acknowledgment slip and bank passbook handy — most escalations are resolved once Aadhaar seeding is confirmed.
The pattern is consistent. “Pushed to DBT” is good news. When the money stalls, the fix is almost always NPCI seeding at your bank, not a portal error.
